Frequently asked questions
- What is a LoRo stereo downmix?
- LoRo (Left only / Right only) folds a surround bed to stereo without Dolby surround encoding: Lo = L + 0.707 × C + 0.707 × Ls and Ro = R + 0.707 × C + 0.707 × Rs.
- Is the LFE included?
- No. A LoRo fold down drops the LFE by default, exactly like a broadcast deliverable. You can still raise its fader if your mix needs it.
- Which surround layouts are supported?
- LCR, quad, 5.0, 5.1 and 7.1. Channel roles are detected from the file metadata and the SMPTE order, and you can reassign any channel manually.
- Can I balance the channels before the fold down?
- Yes. Every channel has its own volume fader from -24 to +12 dB, with a live stereo preview and a clipping warning before export.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. The matrix runs locally in your browser and the stereo file is written straight to your downloads.
