What's Inside the Free Nature Pack?
These ambiences were recorded in the French countryside: in forests, along streams and waterfalls, in meadows and on open plateaus.
They are calm, wide and usable as beds — the kind of backgrounds an exterior scene needs before any spot effects are added.
This free pack contains 22 stereo nature ambiences, useful for:
- •Exterior scene beds for film and documentary
- •Forest, countryside and mountain atmospheres
- •Water backgrounds: brooks, waterfalls, gentle flow
- •Night ambiences with crickets and distant frogs
- •Wind in branches and open-field gusts
- •Game, podcast and meditation backgrounds

Recorded in the French Countryside
Every ambience in this pack comes from real locations in rural France: fir forests at dawn, glades full of birds, brooks running between rocks, waterfalls heard from a distance, meadows with insects and herds with cow bells further down the valley.
They were captured in stereo at 48 kHz / 24-bit, which is the format most film and video timelines already run at, so the files drop straight into a session without conversion.
How to Use Nature Ambiences
An exterior scene rarely works on production sound alone. A continuous ambience underneath glues the cuts together and gives the location a sense of space.
- •Lay one ambience across the whole scene, then cross-fade between takes.
- •Keep water beds low: a stream reads as presence long before it reads as a stream.
- •Use the night ambiences with crickets and frogs to set a time of day instantly.
- •Layer a wind recording over a forest bed to add movement without new content.
- •Filter the top end to push an ambience behind a window or a wall.
UCS Naming and File Organisation
All files follow the Universal Category System, so the category comes first in the file name and the library stays sortable when you drop these recordings into a bigger collection.
The pack ships as a single ZIP with a license PDF included.
