Frequently asked questions

Which sample rates can I convert to?
44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192 kHz. 48 kHz is the film, TV and broadcast standard, 44.1 kHz is the music and podcast standard.
Which bit depths are available?
16, 24 and 32 bit for WAV, 16 and 24 bit for AIFF. 24 bit is the production standard, 16 bit is for light delivery, 32 bit keeps the maximum headroom.
Does upsampling improve quality?
No. Going from 44.1 to 96 kHz only interpolates samples, it adds no detail. Converting down to 48 kHz for a delivery is the common real use case.
Which input formats are accepted?
WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A, FLAC, OGG and Opus. The file is decoded locally and re-encoded to WAV, AIFF or MP3.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the converted file is written straight to your downloads.
