How the batch queue works

Your audio stays on your device
Every file is read, converted and written in your browser, one at a time. Nothing is uploaded. Only the file being converted is held in memory; each finished file is saved and released before the next one starts.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the sample rate or bit depth change?
- Not by default. Sample rate and bit depth are both on Source, so a 44.1 kHz 16-bit WAV becomes a 44.1 kHz 16-bit AIFF and a 96 kHz 24-bit WAV stays 96 kHz 24-bit. No resampling happens.
- What happens to 32-bit WAV files?
- AIFF files are written at 16 or 24-bit, so a 32-bit WAV is saved as a 24-bit AIFF.
- How are the files named?
- take01.wav becomes take01.aiff. If you choose a different rate or depth, the name says so, for example take01_48k_24bit.aiff. Duplicate names get _2, _3 and existing files are never overwritten.
- Is metadata carried over?
- No. Like the single-file tool, the AIFF files contain the audio only, without timecode, iXML or markers.
- Can I add files that are not WAV?
- This tool accepts WAV files only. Any other file is marked as failed in the queue and the rest of the batch continues.
- Who can use batch processing?
- Batch Processing is a Lifetime Pro feature. It does not use your free conversion or pay-per-use credits.
