Every file is read, converted and written in your browser, one at a time. Nothing is uploaded. Only the file being converted is held in memory; each finished file is saved and released before the next one starts.
Frequently asked questions
- What sample rate do the MP3 files get?
- By default each file keeps its own rate when MP3 supports it: 44.1 kHz stays 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz stays 48 kHz. Higher rates keep their family: 88.2 and 176.4 kHz become 44.1 kHz, 96 and 192 kHz become 48 kHz.
- Which bitrate is used?
- Every file is encoded at 320 kbps, the same encoder and setting as the single-file WAV to MP3 tool.
- How are the files named?
- interview.wav becomes interview.mp3. If two files share a name, the second becomes interview_2.mp3, and a file already in the output folder is never overwritten.
- Can I add files that are not WAV?
- This tool accepts WAV files only. Any other file is marked as failed in the queue and the rest of the batch continues.
- Is metadata copied to the MP3?
- No. Like the single-file tool, the MP3 files carry the audio only, without ID3 tags or broadcast metadata.
- Who can use batch processing?
- Batch Processing is a Lifetime Pro feature. It does not use your free conversion or pay-per-use credits.
